Regulatory Reporting Monitor
Banks revise public regulatory financial data because of mistakes, reclassifications, and regulators’ requests. RRM monitors all revisions and re-filings of banks' financial regulatory reports including 9C and Call Reports, and publishes the Bank Reg Filing Scorecard by tracking the number and severity of revisions.
Regulatory financial data is not as timely as SEC reporting, but it is more comprehensive and detailed. Regulators’ rigid reporting instructions and data definitions means consistent long-term historical datasets can be formed and used for trend, peer group, firm comparison, and other analyses.
